Hillcroft House, a Grade 2 listed building which dates back over 200 years, has been tastefully extended but retains the link with the original house to provide facilities very much in keeping with the 21st century. Our new single rooms, all with en-suite facilities, are tastefully decorated and provide our residents with a quality environment for enjoyment of life in later years. These add to the original rooms which have a variety of views and facilities. Although all rooms are fully furnished, we encourage residents to bring with them items of furniture and personal possessions so that their room can be a true ‘home from home’.
Hillcroft House is situated in a quiet part of Stowmarket, Suffolk yet is still very near to the centre of the town. Landscaped gardens with mature trees and shrubs surround the home, which is regularly visited by local wildfowl.
Residents can use all the amenities of the local community including the post office, a GP’s surgery, numerous stores and pubs.
Our care staff are trained to the highest standards, using our internal training programme, and chosen not only for their skills but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. They are on hand around the clock to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual. The emphasis placed on high quality staff was rewarded when the home received ‘Investor in People’ accreditation.
We regularly assess each resident so that we can be sure their needs are met and supply specialised equipment if required. An optician, dentist, and chiropodist visit by appointment, and the in-house hairdressing salon provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages. Our catering staff provide delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, as well as special dishes for those with particular dietary requirements.
Hillcroft House has the benefit of an Activities Co-ordinator with whom residents can arrange to take part in as many, or as few, activities as they wish. Our activity leaflet gives more information about what is on offer.
We strongly believe that no matter what level of care is required, everyone deserves the same attention and has the same right to live life to the full.
