Welcome to Hamilton House Care Home, our purpose built Home where we provide a high standard of care 24 hours a day. Our Residents have varying needs from specialist support and help with everyday living to those who just need a helping hand to retain some independence. Some stay with us on a permanent basis whilst others stay for short periods of time.

We offer Nursing care as well as specialist care for those with Dementia. We also provide Respite care to give home carers a much needed break. End of Life care is available at a time when Residents and their families need specialist help and support.

Relaxing Areas

Our Residents can pursue their hobbies in a number of communal and quiet lounges provided throughout the Home. We have a colourful garden with fruit and vegetable patches and a patio which is popular in the summer. These areas are used for relaxing, socialising and are great places to invite friends and families when they visit.

Activities

Our Residents get very involved in planning our programme of events along with our Activities Co-ordinator. These include arts and crafts, baking and gentle gardening as well as quizzes and musical events. We go on outings to local attractions including HMS Victory, The D-Day Museum, the Marie Rose Museum, Gunwharf Quays and the Sea Life Centre. Alternatively, lunch at a local pub always proves popular with our Residents. We also provide a regular church service which is open to any Residents and their families and friends who wish to attend.

We support the UK National Dementia Strategy which ensures that key life skills are maintained, building purpose and providing nurture for Residents with Dementia. We organise group and individual activities but in our experience it is the one-to-one sessions that our Residents find most calming and rewarding.

Food & Drink

Mealtimes are an enjoyable and sociable part of the day. Each one of our dining areas has tables laid with fresh flowers and linen and our menus are displayed to show the choices available. Snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are provided 24 hours a day.

We have themed meals including food and wine from around the world. We also enjoy catering for special celebrations for our Residents such as birthdays and anniversaries.
