Wood House, Southmead, Bristol, opened in July 2003 and has eight self contained apartments and eight ensuite bedrooms, with spacious open plan communal areas. Wood House was designed to meet the needs of people with complex needs and challenging behaviours and there are excellent facilities including a hot tub, gardens, and life skills kitchen all within modern, bright colourful surroundings.
Wood House aims to offer the highest possible standard of care and support to residents within modern, spacious, bright and safe but stimulating surroundings. Recognised as a specialist facility for people with learning disabilities we have our own senior team and dedicated staff team who provide high levels of support over a 24 hour period.
Meaningful, individually tailored activities are planned and delivered to maintain and develop skills to enable service user to become more independent and have greater control over their lives. The home has access to its own dedicated transport and also support service users to access the community by using public transport.
